La Haute Vallée de l'Aude

The Haute Vallée de l'Aude is situated in Occitania in the centre of the south of France. Occitania offers a Mediterranean climate, tempered with the influence of the Mediterranean Sea. This climate is favourable for all outdoor activities, especially camping. Occitania has an exceptional cultural and natural heritage. This region offers a great diversity of landscapes, the Mediterranean coastline, the Pyrenees, the plains which favour different forms of tourism.

More precisely in the department of Aude, a department between sea and mountains. Its cultural heritage including the two sites registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List: the Medieval City of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi are today with the Cathar Castles the jewels of our department. But also all the tourist sites with different themes to do with family, friends, couples, groups...

Country of Gorge and plateaus in its Pyrenean part, this region offers you the freshness of the most beautiful fir trees in France, and the practice of white water sports.

Going up the Aude river, on the Limoux side, the hills and valleys are the setting for Blanquette, the oldest crude wine in the world, which flows in the water on Carnival days, a tradition perpetuated since the Middle Ages; the longest carnival in the world which lasts 3 months.

The Haute-Vallée de l'Aude, therefore, also offers you the opportunity to travel through time: traces of the last dinosaurs, Cathar castles such as Lapradelle-Puilaurens, Puivert or Arques, or Romanesque abbeys without forgetting the mystery of Rennes-le-Château for the Morus of esotericism.

A diversity of landscape, garrigue, forest, vineyards that you can contemplate during your hike or wine tasting in the vineyards....
